CookByAlexis Kitchen — Full-Stack Restaurant SaaS Platform

CookByAlexis Kitchen is an authentic Nigerian and African cuisine restaurant in Surulere, Lagos. The business needed a complete digital platform that could handle the full restaurant workflow — from customer discovery and menu browsing to online ordering, catering requests, order tracking, and kitchen operations.

The result is a premium full-stack restaurant SaaS web app that gives customers a fast, polished ordering experience and gives the restaurant team a powerful admin system for managing every part of the business from one dashboard.

I built the platform around the restaurant's core experience: authentic Nigerian flavours, fast delivery, catering services, and a direct connection between Alexis and her customers. Every feature was designed to reduce friction for the customer and reduce operational overhead for the team.

Running a restaurant in Lagos means dealing with a high volume of orders, catering enquiries, delivery logistics, and customer communication — often all at once. CookByAlexis Kitchen needed a platform that could handle this complexity without adding complexity for the team.

The challenge was building something that felt simple and premium for customers on the front end, while giving the restaurant owner and staff a complete control centre for orders, payments, catering, menu management, customer chat, and website content.

The platform also needed to work reliably on mobile, support Nigerian payment methods, handle both delivery and pickup flows, and remain manageable without technical knowledge — so Alexis could run the business, not the software.

I built a full-stack restaurant web application using Next.js 14 App Router, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase — giving the platform a solid foundation for speed, scalability, and real-time capabilities.

The public-facing experience includes a searchable menu with a cart drawer, a full checkout flow supporting delivery and pickup, order tracking for customers, a catering request form with status tracking, a photo gallery, a blog, and customer account management.

The admin dashboard covers every part of restaurant operations: menu and category management, an order board with drag-and-drop status flow, a kitchen display view, catering request management, customer live chat, payment tracking, media uploads, staff roles, analytics, and full CMS control over website content and settings.

I integrated Paystack for Nigerian payment processing, added a PWA service worker so the site is installable on mobile, used Framer Motion for smooth page transitions, and built jsPDF invoice generation for catering orders — keeping the entire business workflow inside one platform.
